i wore one when riding a horse many many times, i dont know as i would on the bike though. i'd be afraid of it getting caught in the chain. besides the brogues arent an ideal shoe to ride a motorcycle in. that would REALLY screw with my neighbors' heads if i went roaring out of the driveway wearing my great kilt screaming "FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" they already think i'm halfway crazy for walking a cat on a leash and singing while mowing the lawn.

Personally,  I like kilts, and feel that more men should wear them,   thus overcoming their feelingg on "vulnerability" down there, or because they  "kilt" the last dude that made fun of them, or whatever......thinking of getting a kilt this sommer, or at least a short, plaid mini.....

Wow.... so blatantly suggest that men should go "pantless" and then destroy all common sanity the men here have left by thinking of wearing a short plaid mini.

You madam..... are a tease. At least to the testosterone filled crowd.  ;D 8)

Try a LAVA LAVA from Samoa, same thing, less weight, great in the summer. ;D

you just dont understand how comfortable 5 1/2 yards of heavy Scottish wool is in 95 degree heat! cornstarch is your friend in that situation

...but I dunno about wearing one on a bike  Utilikilts have snaps to hold them shut like shorts, so (presumably?) you wouldn't be catching bugs in unseamly places, but yet....

the massive potential for unreal amounts of roadrash on the important stuff?  mmmm... tough call.

Guess it negates the important duty of always wearing clean underwear incase you have an accident! ;D

We've worn them on our bicycles though. Once you figure out if you are going to tuck the kilt under your butt or ride right on the saddle, it's a breeze after that.  ;D

I'm just thinking of the get-off. Anyone can wear anything (or nothing!) on a bike- it happens all the time at Pride.  8)

When I die I want to come back as Kit and Mickey's bicycle seat............  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

To answer the initial question, Yes, and I have.

Not on the highway though, there are certain body parts and assorted soft tissue I would not take joy in having gravel picked out of if things went wrong.

You do have tuck it under, this prevents the front from flying up and decreasing your visibility while increasing the visibility of those around you.

Personally I wear my kilt as often as possible, it is comfortable and is rather liberating, you just need to be careful of how and where you sit, unless if course you wear something under it....but that just goes against all tradition.

I will try to find a photo to post

I'm sorry Terry but that created an entire mental puppet show inside of my head

Thank You for that

Terry, you know I use a stretched leather Brooks saddle.  Just saying, it might not be so much "reincarnation" as just maybe the ... repurposing of some old hide.  :D ;D  Good God, I'd have a Terry  - "edition" -   Brooks.

How would you ever get all the wrinkles out of a Terry seat cover Kit?
And there would always be that "unneccessary" bump right in the middle that could never be hammered down completely! ;D

i asked my wife if she'd get me a couple utilikilts for my birthday and she said she would! i love the "freedom" wearing a kilt gives me. ever since the very first time i wore one at 25 years old i've felt right at home in a kilt. and that utilikilt will be way faster than having to hand pleat and rolling myself into 6 yards of wool every time i want to wear my plaid, no hand stitched kilts here.

I had a wasp go up my shorts last summer.  I knew it was a wasp because the SOB got me 4 times in a row before I could stop.  No more shorts nor kilts on the bikes.
