Powdercoating Frame Cost
« on: January 31, 2006, 09:01:29 AM »
I was wondering how much should I expect to pay for powdercoating my 750F frame?  I have a friend that does small parts reasonably but he cannot fit my frame in his small oven.  Anyone with experience coating a frame retail?  thanks

Just had one of my CB350 frames powder coated....with swingarm and about 12 brackets(includes media blasting & dip). Cost me $275 plus tax.

He used a new alloy coat, that looks like old nickel plating.

Did it thru Streetwerkzrods.com....here is a price list:

The guy does GREAT work!!

If you use him....tell him Greg from Ohio Cafe Racers sent you.

i payed $200 for frame, swingarm, batterybox, kickstand, footpeg brackets, etc., including the sandblasting of the frame. i beadblasted all of the small stuff myself. rims could have been done within the same batch cost.

i did, however, get quoted some outrageous prices before i found this place. just gotta poke around a bit and see what you can find...

Thanks ... that was cheap ..... you got a major deal.  The best I found here in metro Detroit is $175 for the frame with the prep blasting.

Eventually I want to have a frame done in what they call copper vein.
All those $ sound right in line.

I paid $275 for my frame, swingarm, and lower fork legs done in metallic silver, taxes and blasting/prep is included in that price.

I'd love to see some pictures when you get this done.  Saw an episode of American Chopper when they used real copper rather than chrome (same process) and loved the look.

Well dont hold our breath.  The rate I get #$%* done god dont know when it will happen.  Although found out we might have a job coming up that also wants copper vein.  This isnt a copper finish though. It looks gloss black untill you get close then you see a "copper vein" running through it.

It looks like a textured wall with the base coat being copper and the "top coat" gloss black but the top  covers more.   I'll see what I can find from our powdercoater on the web.
