Ignition switch mount.......stock or not? 76 CB 750K
« on: January 19, 2006, 07:08:59 PM »
Heres a few pics of my ignition switch. First pic is where it was at when I got the bike.

This is the mount my buddy gave me when he put his back under the tank on his 74 CB 750K

And this is one I made from using the above one as a template. Its aluminum Treadplate and I painted it black.

Now that I have the new mount on.....I think I really like the one that was on it to start with. The new mount takes up alot of space. I guess it will look better after the bike is cleaned up and the tank painted.

Opinions?

Well those relocation plates were all the rage way back when, as the key under the tank idea lead to burnt fingees on more than one occasion, not to mention lost keys etc.

I personally like your chrome one, but see if you can find the little hinged cover to sop rain from getting in and messing with your electrics and rusting up the lock. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

When I purchased my bike the Ign. switch was on a bracket similar to what you have.
I wasn't a big fan of it being their, as it took up allot of space, as you noted.

I moved my switch to right behind the left side cover, as in the pic below.
I am more than happy with it their, as it is out of the way, and isn't a main
Focal Point , as it was before....
