Throttle Sleeve Opinion Please...
« on: March 15, 2010, 05:03:25 PM »
When you guys put the grease under the new throttle sleeve is white lithium OK? Or should I use a heavier grease like wheel bearing grease to give the throttle a little slower reaction from that heavy carb spring?

I generally use the white lithium.......but not too much.  Regular grease tends to get soft and runs in the heat, and gets too stiff in the cold. I have also used graphite spray with good results.

Thanks Dennis. I never thought about getting soft in the heat. Will do...

I imagine silicon spray would work well too...

I don't see anything wrong with grease there, other than the goo, but I'll throw in the counterpoint.

I don't use anything and am happy with that.
