Seat Year and style

Can anyone tell me which year and model CB750 came with the seat hinge on the left? I have a K6 and it's on the right side if you're sitting on the bike. However, I've seen ebay listings that are listing seats from 1972-76.  Is the k6 compatible with other years?

The 77/78 K's have the seat hinges on the left.  I don't know of any other years with the hinges on the left.  My K4 has them on the right.

And do you know if the document compartment is near the back of the seat rather than under the front as it is on my K6? Here are some pics:

Can anyone tell me if the seat pan for the 77-78 model is the same shape as a k6 or earlier? In other words, can I take the foam and cover off of this one and put it onto my k6 pan that needs new foam and cover?

It may be close shape wise, but they are definitely not a direct fit (mostly due to hinge location, I believe).
