« on: March 15, 2010, 08:13:55 AM »

Just barely got home this morning from my usually Monday morning activities and my "Friendly UPS man" pulled up in front of MY house to deliver a package from Ohio! 8) YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already have my Transmission Shift Forks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been "Sitting On Ready" to get the GTX back on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a transmission! ;)

Thanks for that Havoc. :) Well, it's now, 4:20PM and I have had to break away to go take care of my Dad, get me something to eat, cause I mess around and let my blood sugar go low and get shaky, then I had to go get my Daughter and Joey from Bost. Then I've managed to get that side plate on the trans 3 times now and things weren't quite lined up properly. Now, I have finally seemed to make some headway and I had to take a break because I'm not in near as good of shape for "Driveway Maintenance" now days and I'm getting ready to add yet another year on this Friday! ::) I'm REALLY aching to get this thing back together (AND just plain ACHING!). After I go back out there and get things finished up, I'm looking at cleaning the whole undercarriage as it is filthy and grungy! :o >:( That P.O. had it looking GOOD on the outside, but not underneath! Looks like I need to get a rear trans seal too. But, Hopefully, in just a little bit, I'll be able to take her for a test spin. I AM feeling better, I thought I was gonna end up dropping the trans to put it back together.

when i was doing the total rebuild on fuzzycycle the ups man got to be a daily event for me. keith the driver would come back to the shop if he heard the stereo on back there and take a look at how it was coming.

Ha! Ha! I can well imagine that. For a while, I was getting Super Hawk and GTX parts nearly every day or 2, from the Mail lady and some from UPS and I'd get questions about the GTX. It IS cool when someone like that, takes an interest.  ;)

BTW, just got back a few minutes ago AND the GTX is "Back On The Prowl!" 8) ;)

Well done Bill and happy birthday for Friday mate, you old bugger! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yeah, me too Jeff. It's been quite awhile since I've done any "Driveway Time" but sure was good to get that car done on the ground and out on the road again.  8) ;)

Well done Bill and happy birthday for Friday mate, you old bugger! ;D

Thank you Terry, It DID feel good (and brought back some old feelings) to handle that problem like that. ;D First time I'd been into a car trans, lots of motorcycle ones back in the day though. ::) Sure did feel GOOD to get it out on the road and "Go Through The Gears" too! ;)

Thanks for the "Happy Birthday Wish too! Even if I AM getting to be an "Old Bugger!" Popped some "Arthritis Tylenol" and (thankfully) don't feel the effects of rolling around on the driveway yesterday. 8) ;) I was REALLY aching yesterday. :-\

                    Take care Terry, Bill ;)
