In short, much better.  I may be in the endgame of the bout.  Thanks again to all for your well wishes and generous sentiments.
To my detractors...well it ain't over yet!  So, I may yet add to your online reading suffering.  :)

Disgusting details for the bored....

The antibiotics have reversed much of infection, if not all.  My last antibiotic pill was Saturday.  So now, it is wait and see if it is totally knocked out, or has withdrawn to regroup and rally.  Lung pain for breathing has pretty much subsided.  I can again fill them with with deep breaths air without a wince.
I'm still coughing up some blood.  :(
But, the volume of blood has lessened.  I'm hoping it's just the residual clearing, as there hasn't been nearly as much sputum ejected as the last time I had lung issues.
My most recent vicodin was taken last Thursday.
I pulled a muscle in my abdnomen left side from coughing/wretching.  So, I may have to reconsider the Vicodin, if a can't stop coughing today.

I have my energy back, and just got back from a 30 min walk about the neighborhood.  Yesterday was only 20 minutes before fatigue set in.  I probably could have walked farther, today.  But, I decided to only increase exercise incrementally day to day.  I still have a herniated disk to contend with. ::)

TT,

I have found that when exercising  - and in compatability with your herniated disc and some lessening coughing - the best way to get around the neighbourhood is to walk at an even pace, eyeball everyone you see and grab your left testicle and cough loudly in their face... it ensures you complete recovery from pneumonia and an incremental increase of a kick in the arse.......and I bet you can walk further and faster the next day (that is the right testicle jog)... the third day should be a breeze - when you grab your crotch with both hands and yell out - "f*&% you" to all who will listen....... ;D...happy convalescing

I've observed that there are not that many people out walking these days.  To many, I suppose, equate "walking" with reduced social/economic status.  The few people that I do see, generally cross the street to avoid me and any eye contact.  The odd and infrequent close encounter that does occur is 99% one adorned with ear buds and wires that traverse into a clothing pocket.  Anyway, they seldom react to the coughing or Fcuk you greeting other than to quicken their pace.  And these days, I can't seem to catch them anymore to make sure they received the greeting properly.  That last 1% either keeps the shopping cart or walker between us, or she keeps poking me or swinging at me with her cane, 'til I get bored and move on.  One day, I'll have a cane of my own...

Finally, thanks for revealing who that was following me in that black van from a distance and evading my approach.  I was kind of giddy thinking I had a distant admirer or someone with interest enough to plot my daily progress/improvement.  But, now I see it's just a namby-pamby tattle tale taking creative credit for what occurs routinely on my daily exploits.   Kind of a shame I couldn't hock a bloody lunger far enough to splat as it sped by.

 ;D ;D

Thanks 750goes, for your inspirational note. :)
Cheers,

Have you discussed a Pneumococcal vaccination with the doc?
Not recently.  He said after this latest bout clears up, he'll send me to a lung specialist.
He want's to find out why it is recurring.

Be sure you find the best one possible. I think you are reasonable close to Stanford Univ Hospital which is world class. Do your research, as you would any other project you have tackled in the past. I was very careful as to which Doctor I chose for my Prostate Cancer. He is not a really warm guy, but he has a verified track record and I am experiencing very few side effects compared to others I have met. I did not need a friend, I needed a excellent practitioner with a plan, I have enough friends.

There has to be a reason this has reoccurred. It could be environmental, or a medication induced occasional immune problem. It is something that you do not want to become chronic.

I'm sorry that I don't visit this side of the forums often enough to realise you weren't well TT.
I hope your road to recovery is as rapid & successful as your advice in the Tech Forum.
Cheers mate.

I think I threw my back out when I tried to bend over that far.

You never take simple breathing for granted after a bout like this.
I hope the end is in sight.
