Topic: how do u get a title for a bike u built?

i have enough other cb550 parts to build another bike but dont have a title. any ideas as how to obtain a title?

It differs from state to state. 
Check with your state D.O.T.  ?   ?

Title is based on the frame. Is it a custom frame? If you're using an old frame, you have to have the frame titled.

Then you gotta go through the same thing as if it were a complete bike with no title. If you can't locate the previous titled owner, go through ITS or another title service.

first, does the frame have a VIN #? if yes than go to your court house and check previous records. if no(such as my case) you can go to the court house and go through the process of getting a bonded title, in which the state whilll create a new VIN and everything, you will have to purchase a bond through your insurance company, and fill out some paper work and send it to the state such as previous owner purchase price etc..... they will inspect it, issue you a neck tag(sticker) you pay the mandatory fees, and its yours!!!!

thank for the info for ITS.. i have contacted them and they r going to get me paper work,registration and plates with stickers all for only $215..
