this seat hurts
« on: March 23, 2010, 07:17:03 PM »
Has anyone cut down the factory seat on a cb650. I have an '80 & after riding for about an hour my ass is killing me. The step-up is in the completely wrong position. I either have to hug the tank or sit on the passenger part. Any recomendations are appreciated.
While I'm hear, any suggestions on rear shocks. After 1/2 ride in the fall they stuck compressed. So now I'm riding a hard tail. Thanks

My friend cut down and re-shaped the seat foam on his '81 650C, and it looks great.  He used a serrated bread knife to carve the foam, but I've also heard that an electric knive works even better.  He replaced the stock cover with an aftermarket one, and it looks perfect.
