tips on cleaning my cb550 block

the 550 i am rebuilding is somewhat tarnished and grimy i dont wanna just wash it and paint it if i can get the natural aluminum look back. any suggestions on what to use to help clean the motor??

media blast it and clear coat it.   :)

You could probably use a bit of aircraft remover, then polish or repaint it.

They weren't bare aluminum.  The factory painted them.  Do a search and you will find that there are several really good matches to the factory block color available at the auto parts store or even Wally World.
