One other thing to think about. Blasting the parts is not all there is to proper PC prep. The better outfits place the degreased, blasted parts in an oven to outgass any residual contaminants left in the base metal. This insures a nice clean surface for adhesion of the powder and reduces the potential for blistering or peeling of the coating. You are not going to get that kind of service from someone who does this out of their home.

Also keep in mind that if your powder coater is not carful with his masking that PPG gasket remover on a Q-tip will do a great job of removing the coating from bearing surfaces and the like.

Good luck

Ha, what a trip! I just dropped all my stuff off with this guy on Tuesday! He said it should all be done in about 10 days, I'll post lots of photos when I get it back. I didn't do any prep work, just handed him the frame and the swing arm, stands, mounts, etc. I'm optimistic about it, but it does seem just a little too good to be true. If it all works out I'm going to take my wheels to him as well, and of course refer all you dudes.

Awesome!  Let us know...hope it all works out for you!
bryce. just sent out my frame to be powdered last week. I didn't go to this guys from craigslist. He said that he does it at home (had bad experience about those) plus he was kind of rude over the phone he charges additional price for each little items plus more expensive for the colored ones.. I went to Atlantis in sunset on silverlake I paid 380 flat! no tax for everything you could think of every parts..I picked silver/chrome almost identical to chrome with no additional fee. When I went and saw that color for their customer who just got it done, I had to get done that day. It looked fU*(kin awesome! takes only a week. let u know.

Damn...nice find.  Do they polish aluminum and chrome too?

I just got a quote for $800 to polish all (pic 1) and paint all (pic 2) below.  Need to see if that is good deal.
