oil pressure when my 750 warms up
« on: March 19, 2010, 03:18:54 PM »
after around 30 minutes out in the 78 degree day, i looked down at the oil pressure gauge at idle and it's only 16-18 pounds. the oil is fresh, the screen was cleaned up when i had the motor out.

Nothing wrong with that reading assuming your idle is approx. 1,000 RPM. Actually, you can feel good if the oil pressure (once hot) is 10 lbs/1,000 RPM. It might drop slightly below that at idle on a 90 degree+ day.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

My gage shows zero in hot weather and in traffic ( yes I do avoid traffic like the plague , Have only been in this situation twice ) . Oil light stays off though . My gage is oil filled and I heard that oil filled gages can read incorectly when hot      ( telling myself this makes me feel better ).
