Hello all.  I went to install my new shocks on my 69 cb350 twin cafe racer when I found an unwelcome development.  The lower mounts  wouldn't line up.   I checked the length of the shocks thinking that they might be off a bit and they weren't.  So I measured and sure enough with the rear wheel on the floor, and  the drive chain and brake arm slack there's about an 1/8" difference from one side to the other (measuring from centers between the upper and lower shock mounts).

I am pretty sure I can tweak it enough to get the shocks mounted . . .  but am I asking for trouble doing this?  I have been experiencing some front end chatter on high speed corners . . .  Is an 1/8" enough to throw things out whack?

Worse yet, the swingarm looks really straight and the wheel is at a right angle to the ground . . .  so it might be the frame that's tweaked >:( :'(

Take a look at your swingarm bushings.......you should not have any side to side movement of your swingarm or side to side rocking motion. If your swingarm is off that much.......i'd bet thats the cause.
