same thing on a single cam 750, unless it's a cb750A.

Use anti-seize on plug threads each and every time you install them and thread life will vastly improve.

sure did use paste, but now i undestand why that plug was constantly weeping a bit, guess the thread was on its way out form the day i got the bike.

on my first race ever same thing happened on the other side, manged to save the day by pushing the plug back in and holding it down with a sort of steel wire tourniquet.... still finished ninth! :)

will do now all the rest, better now that on race day (again)

Brent, hope this is no sign of how this season is going to go  ;)

got to admit it was tempting, but "plug chops" would become painfully slow.  :)

Plug chops? Who does that anymore? Don't run such high compression. We ran only 10.75/1 and stuck in Keihin 120 main jets worked from sea level at Daytona to 8000 feet at Steamboat Springs, Colorado! This was using old style Keihin race carbs and CR Specials.

Timing was 28 degrees full advance, Dyna S with standard advancer and OEM coils!
elf Pro Moto fuel.

Reminds me...when Gary Nixon raced bike...he would always do "plug chops"!!! Wead to go down and push the bike into pits all the time. I finaly told him,we were not going to even read the plugs anymore and he quit doing it!  He raced for factory GP Suzuki and Kawasaki and he got used to checking plugs all the time...you know, he did not want those two strokes to do the "two stroke thing" and blow up! same for Triumphs he raced when with factory Team.

I said it (to myself) for years on this board. Old habits die hard and that was 2 stroke stuff to begin with.

Hmm, we're running 210.
OK OK yes, I forgot to mention we're running methanol in a 1140cc motor.

Exactly Mike...and since Classic or Vintage racing does not leave a lot of time for practicing...you don"t waste another lap doing the worthless ,time consumming plug chops and the resulting time to look at plugs and talk yourself into changing timing or jets. Lets you work on chassis, tire and rider set ups. The last being the hardest!

Or put another steak on the "barbi", grab another bier!
