Painted airbox for an old Goldie
« on: March 22, 2010, 06:51:26 PM »
Howdy,
Long time sohc rider, first time poster.
You all are helping me value my old K0 cb750 more than ever and it is bothering me more and more that I swapped the oem painted airbox for a sturdier later model black one.  That and the exhaust are about all that have been changed since daddy brought her home new (I was 12).
Anyone know who makes/sells the best repro airbox ?  How 'bout paint ? Anyone know how to find a good matching paint to spray the repro box to match one of these old candy golds ?  I've painted a 450 honda and a couple cars before but never painted plastic....couldn't be too different !?
As for the exhaust ....one thing  at a time (and I love the Jardine pipes)
Great forum -- thanks !

Repro airboxes are available here http://lpmreplicaparts.com/honda/CB750K0/airbox.html  Paint kits are available here http://www.vintagehondapaint.com/Site/vintagehondapaint.com.html  but a good body shop should be able to match it.

Cool,
Thanks, that looks helpful. I'll bookmark it.
I figured talking to a body shop was only if I was having them do the work, but hey, it never hurts to ask.
