How critical is fork oil measurement?
« on: April 25, 2005, 07:12:39 AM »
My 75 550 gets a little bouncy at highway speeds and on rough roads. I'm going to be replacing the tires soon and so will check balance and alignment at that time. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that, when I replaced the fork seals a few months ago, I misread the fork oil capacity, putting in 5.4 oz. (which is for a 500) instead of 6.5 oz. (which would be for a 550).

Am I correct in assuming that such an error would decrease the damping abilty of the forks, thus resulting in a springy front end?
