"Race-Driven" brand chain (Ebay)
« on: March 22, 2010, 10:59:41 PM »
Yes I did post this same link in  a  thread about finding a chain for my 500, but my 750 also needs a chain, (I found out that an O Ring chain wont work with the 500) and im wondering if anybody has bought a chain from these guys and how is it? The price is right and it says it has a tensile strength of 8200 lbs. I know it says its for a 550, but it has the same specs as  a CB750 chain (100 link, 530) so what do you guys think?

I'll bite.

Never heard of "Race Driven" chains. I use DID x-ring chains on all of my bikes and am extremely happy with them.

DID is an excellent brand, especially in X-Ring, but it is awful tempting for 58 bux shipped. Im just curious about its rep.

I thought an o-ring chain was too wide to run on a 500/550, the chain would rub the engine cases and eventually wear them through.

So what is exactly your price range?

I am a supplier for DID, EK, Renthal, and even have my own house brand.

What exactly are you looking for?

'78 CB550K - Fokker CB.3
'78 Honda CB750K - Mavrik
'80 Yamaha XS850G - Kanibalistik

Well, I was holding off to get a DID O Ring 530 Chain. (My first Choice) but, I was just curious about the ebay "race-driven chain". Its kind of one of those things that just came along and seems like a good opportunity. Thats why I asked about it here on the forum. But, it seems like not a whole of people have tried/are using them, or maybe none at all, haha.  ;D

I think that what he's saying is, on a 750, of your $58 chain breaks, odds are that it is going to blast a hole right into your crankcase.  This is a classic problem on 750's.

You need 530-100 link right?

DID O-Ring chain in 530 size smallest I carry is a 110link.
I can cut it down for you, but they are $118+shipping.

EK O-Ring chain in 530 size smallest I carry is a 102link.
Cut down is no problem, they are $66+shipping.

Renthal SRS chain in 530 size smallest I carry is 110link.
Cut down they are $124+shipping.

Shipping is $6 to the lower 48.
