I've been trying for quite a while to get registered on this site - I've used my work email, my ISP email, my school email, etc., but I haven't heard back about registering.

Is the place dead? Did they decide they have enough members and no one else should be allowed in?

Is there another forum out there for the V4 Hondas?

I don't know what's up with the site. A while back I ended up emailing one of the admins and they created an account for me. The site is up and kicking.

Did you email someone specific or just the generic admin@v4hondabbs.com?

What kind of address did you email from?

Chris - send me your ISP provided email address and I'll register you.

Hello,

I recently found v4hondabbs.com, however, I've run into the problem that
when I try and register on the site I get the message "Sorry, registration
is currently disabled." There is no place on the site where a guest can make
a post, and yours was the only email address I was able to find. I was
hoping you could point me in the right direction on getting registered.

Thanks for your time,

Chris

I don't use an ISP given email address, so I just gave him my hotmail addy. I would think you could just drop him a line similar to the one I did.

Hope this helps. If not, let me know and I'll try and get in touch with one of the other admins through the forum.

Yeah, like the vast majority of internet users, I have Gmail accounts for all of my email needs. I emailed that address from my official work email, hopefully that's good enough.

It's really too bad that they disabled registration like that - no other forum I've been to requires that many hoops to jump through - at worst it's been a couple of captchas, email verification, and moderator approval of the first few posts. That's enough to eliminate 99% of spammers, and it still allows determined individuals to get in.

I tried search their forum. Apparently, they've had some pretty bad spam in past and have switched over to manual registration, aka: the admins have to create the accounts. I think it might just lack of experience for who ever is running the site.

I'm like you. I can't rely on ISP email. I've moved around a few times and have had to switch providers each time. I can't direct my entire Internet life to an email address that I may not have in a few years. At least with Hotmail I know that they would give a pretty big warning **IF** they ever had to shutdown.
