For those of you that were following the "NYC Slo-mo Death Watch" thread in which I saved a bird#$%*-covered abandoned CB350f from getting picked up by the trash man, you'll be happy to know that I determined the bike was never stolen, tried to contact the former owner to no avail, and now have legitimate title and ownership of the bike.
The bike is in surprisingly good condition for having been out in the elements for so long -- no rust inside the tank (though the petcock leaks and is getting a rebuild), all wiring in pretty good shape, fairly clean carbs, etc.
I haven't run it yet but that's next, with a new AGM battery and ignition switch on the way.
I'm also thinking of changing the gawd-awful rusty side-cut 4-2 mufflers (see below) with something a little more classic looking. The four header pipes are in great shape, and they just plug into the mufflers which each consist of two inputs into one can. Problem is, I can't find any mufflers out there which have the same 2-1 configuration of each one, and I'd rather not buy a whole new exhaust since the header pipes are fine.
Any ideas? I remember seeing at one point on the site that a guy had just put VW bug exhaust tips on each of the header ends. I don't want to go loud.
Any ideas are welcome.
Are there any after-market 4-2 solutions for me?
