CB750K4 -5.5 mm fuel line and interchangeable petcocks
« on: March 24, 2010, 07:45:06 AM »

Does anyone have a good source for OEM fuel line -the 5.5 mm diameter line and approx. cost - need it for 2 bikes (not looking for the cheap 1/4 line) and can I get it in 1 to 2 feet quantities?

Second question:

Exploring the idea of using a later model petcock - one with the filter sock that goes inside the gas tank - will this petcock fit the earlier tanks (specifically a K4 tank, right side petcock). Idea here is to not use inline fuel filters.

thanks for any input
Andy

Same question.  Last time I was at a dealer I think they wanted me to buy a 100 ft roll, not cost effective...

Last I looked David Silvers Spares had it in 3ft lengths I think.

The later and earlier petcocks, right side vs left side, are not interchangeable, if I understand the question.

The rt side cocks are held on by 2 screws. THe left side with the sock, is held on by a large threaded nut onto a bung on the tank.

I got some thanks from Yamiya - worked out cheaper at the time than from DSS. However then I had to order K0 bars from DSS so I should have waited  ::). Anyway new fuel line is great!

cheers
Andy

Its still cheaper than high pressure fuel injection hose. I just paid 6 bucks a foot last week for my truck. If you want to sell a few feet of it to get some of your money back PM me with a price. I would like to have some for when I need it. Thanks.

If you are still left with more than you would like to have on hand, I am also interested in buying 5 (or 4 or 3) feet.

What is wrong with the 'cheaper' 1/4" hose?  I just had to replace the line running from the petcock to the carb 'T', and for a foot of the 1/4" hose & two compression clamps, the price was $2.68 from the Honda dealer in town. The hose I bought did not look any weaker or less durable than the hose it replaced. What's the difference?
