Cool, I knew he would.  Cheap and fast to.  Know I am wishing I would have powdered my cases rather than paint.  Looks like next winters project.
He did a real nice job. No complaints  8)

With cash I think.  ;D My guy wasn't cheap, but good. He put quite a bit of time ie $$$ into it. The blast media he uses wouldn't properly remove the existing black spray on the case halves &/or maybe the original finish on the side pieces. Rather than use an aggressive media he sent them out and they used some sort of plastic media to protect the integrity of the surface smoothness. That was taping #1. Got them back, taped them off and did a black, taped them & did the silver inlay, taped off the "Honda" (stayed glossy this way) and did a matte clear over everything to flatten the gloss somewhat and protect both the silver and black. As they say, time is money. I've seen $2000 powder jobs this guys does on exotic bicycle frames with multi-color, fading, logos, etc.  

So as to not hijack, PM any questions.

Okay, well I was waffling back and forth on the undercut. Sent the trans off to have it done today. I also ordered the rockers. Now all I need is an alternator cover in decent enough shape to powder and I'll have it all. I'd rather not use the one on the K6 in my bike, anyone got one laying around?

My brand new custom made hardened Thompson early style rocker shafts are nice.  :)


Here are a few shots of the minor beveling I've done to the cam journals. What do you guys think of that?

Very nice. You got me on those! I do have new rocker arms all around though. Details on the shafts other than what we see? Why tungsten, etc?

Sorry, Thompson, not tungsten. 12mm hardened Thompson shaft is what those are.

man im very jealous,ive went through a few yamaha yz 250f motors like that,had jesse at williams motowerks do my head work had trans under cut falicon rod welded crank an its just awesome when you finally get to ride it,im planning to go through my 750k k1/k8 hybrid an build something similar,i must ask what carbs an pipes are you running.im thinking about going with cycle x 2-1 manifolds an running 2x32mm keihin fcr carbs from a crf 150,an i will be watching this thread very interesting

The pipes are Kerker 4 to 1 megaphones I got new last summer. The carbs are Mikuni 29mm smoothbores.

If I can't stop myself, I'll be getting these in January...

The 29s are bring $300 to $400 on ebay. Z1 Enterprises has a red letter offer on their website to buy 29s and parts for 29s outright. But I'm sure they want to get them as cheap as possible. Popular upgrade for 70s era Z1s.

  Save your money !  $2,000.00  for carbs !  What a waste.  Your 29 smooth bores will work just fine.  If you feel you need
   larger carbs go with 33 smooth bore carbs. 1/4 the price on ebay.   ;D

Can you get the 33s on a CB750? I didn't know there was a plate/manifolds combo that worked.

Just to play devils advocate, do you have dyno tests with both sets of carbs, on the same motor?
