United Kingdom members- cheap shipping to Canada?
« on: March 25, 2010, 08:52:17 PM »
HI!
Do you know the simplest and cheapest method to ship to Canada? The Royal Mail? DHL is a fortune! Speed is not really crucial.
Thanks,
Cliff.

This is the second thread i have seen on this subject this week. I think maybe we need a sticky thread with all the relevant info in it for easier access......What do you all think.?

Sure or in FAQ. I'll look for the other thread, I missed it.

Sorry to confuse the issue, the other thread was for shipping down under from America. Some of the more mainstream shippers are a blatant rip off but there are usually other companies that "fill" loads already going OS. Like i said, with the amount of parts crossing oceans on this forum there should be a sticky with all options listed...

Royal Mail is cheapest for USA and Canada unless you have a corporate deal with someone like FedEx through your workplace. I ship exhausts to North America - a full set of 4 into 4 pipes in plastic crate weighing 10 Kg is £135, insured for £800. If you drop the insurance ott's about £105. All depends what you're sending though...

If you want to work it out, go to www.royalmail.com and use their very easy "Postal Price Finder" to get all the options.

There are cheaper ways than that LMP, i get 10kilo packages {guitars} from Japan on a regular basis through EMS and i only pay $ 100 USD for the shipping and they get her in 3 to 4 days, i don't get any from the US because of their ridiculous shipping charges. There's a new guy on here that does cheap shipping, i'll see if i can find it.

Look at reply 6

Seems this guy ships to Australia relatively cheap, he may know cheaper options on shipping elsewhere...

Thanks for the link lordmooniepie!
So checking with the Royal Mail a parcel weighing less than 1000 grams, 60cm x 15 cm x 15 cm in size, the slowest way possible with no tracking, delivery time of 30-36 days is 38.19 English Pounds or about $58.54 Can. The seller says DHL is 35.40 Pounds.  The scary thing is what is DHL going to charge me in brokerage fees here? That's my next step in the process.
Me bad for not checking first! I'm getting an expensive education. Interesting that LPM can send me a reproduction K0 airbox for 9.95 pounds by Royal Mail.
