I dont like my 82 CB400 mags....
« on: March 26, 2010, 12:53:52 AM »
.....it would be much appreciated if anyone can suggest what other (spoked) rims could fit on my 82 CB 400N?
I've recently discovered this site and have been inspired by all the SOHC fanatics here, it's great to see I'm not the only guy who's voulantry trapped in time and has a passion for the raw, yet classical punch in the face power.
My bike has been dorment in my garage for about 8 years now and hope things haven't gotten too crusty.
I've made a few mods like rear sets, clip-ons, undertail pipe and K&N's but not sure where to place the battery and electrical bits?
Anyone input or pics would be appreciated.
Cheers

... wait a minute, I have cb400 mags that are the original silver and black... (the '82 is belt driven, right?)

ah, but alas, they're not spoked...

Great starting point! In my opinion I would go with the mags. They look "right" on your project!

Don't forget your flame resistant undies!

Thanks for the replies.

I've kept mt original seat, ripped off the foam leaving the bare metal seat, I'm yet to re-shape, re-upholster and laying some heat resistant material down before cushioning.......I've started the bike before and sitting over them didn't seem that bad once warmed up....also thinking of wrapping the pipes.

I guess it may be different in the middle of traffic....then again, I know where to warm my ass during winter!

I've seen different responses to the Comstars. Some people hate them, some people wish they had a set.
There's a motorcycle junkyard near me that has what seems like dozens laying around. Is there a way to make a positive I.D.? Are they worth picking up a couple of pairs?

the CB750F has disks front and rear. I cant tell you if they will fit the cb400. Im sure someone on here would know the answer for that on. And they did come both with the spoked and mag wheel.
