Kyle your Bobber is awesome.  I've been wanting to do something like this for some time now with a GL1000.....or at least get one, strip it down and ride the #$%* out of it ;D

Love it.

im not sure yet... i think a little pin stripping would look good on her though... this is a project for my cousin's. id like it to be accented somehow. but it would have to be tasteful. ultimately up to him though.

Ah.. Yes that does make it hard to just roll with what ever idea you may have for it. So give em a call and find out... ;)

he's pretty easy going with me on the whole deal. if i could just convince him that it needs crash bars... imagine that thing going over with those heads stuck so far out... but i should be able to talk him into it. there's a guy that has a shop close to the house that does some cool pinstriping. would like him to throw some red/white on the 550's tank.

im trying to get him to pick out a brake lamp so i can figure you if its going to go on the fender or shock mount or what...
also still need to bleed the rear brakes, figure out a running issue and finish the rear fender/brake lamp situation... he's supposed to get it tagged this week though.

i have a 79' gl1000 that im currently working on/ making it look sweet. just wondring how much thos slip on pipes set you back, i have the long stock ones that flare down which look ok but they are blued and pretty rusty, and has an exhaust leak at the connection due from rust....just need a couple of shorter slip ons that sound good..

Stock harley's slip right on. Search your craigslist and find someone selling cheap that has upgraded. You can find them here for as low as 25.00
