Hot Peppers for this year - Hotest Pepper in the world!!
« on: March 26, 2010, 07:38:55 PM »
Has anyone grown Bhut Jolokias or Scotch Bonnets?

I already know of the legendary burn of the Jolokias any one have any pepper stories? I am growing both of these this year. So far I have 3 Bonnets and 1 jolokia breaking soil.

Scotch Bonnet

Bhut Jolokia

Bhuts are already slated to be used as a rather nasty bio weapon by the Indian powers that be. I know they use it to keep wild elephants away.

Must be tasty  ::)

We sampled a dry piece here. Ghost pepper is its nick name. Its very hot. Inedible in my opinion.
This is a good idea of the pain. Some other great ones on you tube

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

El Cheapo I've got a Scotch Bonnet pepper tree that's still hanging in after I think 7-8 years of neglect and abuse (low light and forget to water), it's trunk is as thick as my thumb, we'll see how it does this summer, we have to buy a digital camera and when we do we'll post pictures and if you want seeds let me know and I'll try and save some this fall.

Tepins are great cooking chilis. I have had them, they are a powerhouse. Ounce for ounce I think they hit harder than just about any other pepper.

Bill sounds like the Scotch is much more hearty than the Bhut. I guess the Bhut drops flowers and fruit at a whim. I guess I never thought of Scotchs as long lasting. We will have to see how mine will do.

We even forgot it one winter and didn't bring it in until other things had frozen.
