tapered bearing
« on: February 23, 2010, 12:28:19 PM »
ok so i bought a set of pyramid bearings, and well when i recieved them the top bearing care was a different style then the bottom cage, so i asked the person i bought it form to send me the right one and so they did buy once again upon getting it, it was the exact same thing.....and its really low quality. i heard something about this all balls bearing, does any one have a link to a set for a 77 cb550?

what about ebay?

If you want some quality bearings go with All Balls. If you can find the right ones on eBay fine, but if something is not right it is much easier to have denniskirk right it for you. I think I paid around $50 including shipping.

erm.... no link per se.

but I and many others have used All Balls in the past and they are spot on 99.9999% of the time.

I am a parts dealer.... I run my own shop/website and am always happy to try to get SOHC4 members a deal.

Here's a pic of what they look like.... (general idea)

I've only run all balls bearings, and every one was top quality.  I've done three steering head bearing sets and one front wheel bearing set.  I have a rear wheel bearing set too, but decided the current bearings are still serviceable.  I highly recommend the All Balls Bearings.

What was your quoted shipping?

Because it was $13 to me here in the states. I cannot imagine what it was to you there in the CAN.

Don't worry turbo, if Lowrider Tommy doesn't have what I need, I'll go with you. I understand brand and buddy loyalty. 'Course, I don't know you, but at least you are helpful, unlike most bayers..

lol it's no big deal guys.

I just don't want to see people pay more than they have to. especially with international shipping being as jacked up as it is.

I'm only here to help.... not to make a buck.

Loki-

Post pictures of the finished neck will ya? Always nice to see a project get finished.
