I'm almost done restoring my 78 750f and I can't find a repo or used left hand side cover.  Plenty of RHS but lefts seemed to have disappeared.  Any suggestions?  Aliens?

LPM plastics http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/L-P-M-Plastic-Motorcycle-Parts__W0QQ_armrsZ1

lots of folks here (including me) have used their products. great prices and better than original materials.

When I restored my 1978F around 6 years ago, I didn't know that there were any repo houses around. It took me me around 10 months to locate a good one (there was lots of junk) on eGouge and then $120 to win the auction. Nice to see they are now repo'ed so others don't have to suffer.

those original electrics side covers for the 1969-1976 k bikes have gotten stupidly expensive, i've seen nice (no cracks or parts missing)  go for more than 150 dollars.

:o I recently sold a mint 1974 Freedom Green Metallic left hand side cover and emblem on fleabay. It went for $170+. I thought it went to someone who really needed it to finish off a stock bike. BUT NOOOO! The guy contacted me looking for some other parts and happened to mention he just sent it off to the painters for some custom paint job. Oh well. These guys look like they have nice repros.

Thanks for your help.

the side covers were exactly the same part #s between '77 and '78, and as I understand it, they are considered to be the "F2" model. (black motor)  :)

the only problem i had (small problem) is that the cover is a good bit thicker than the original and i had to glue the badges to it because the studs on them arent long enough. no problem at all as far as i was concerned.

If your badges won't fit like bucky's, use 2 sided 3M tape. Don't go cheap, get the 3M. It is still on our tank holding the plates on for over 2 yrs now. quite a few people have had theirs on longer. At 70+ mph, you don't want them to fly off. Then if you want to remove, just slide some dental floss behind them and cut them loose.
