CB750F daily Driver
« on: March 27, 2010, 11:08:46 AM »
Would a CB750F 1975 model be a decent daily driver?  I'm thinking of selling my VN750 and using the CB as a daily driver.

I travel about 50 miles/day on Interstate 95 in DC.

I dont see why not. Many here use their CBs as a daily rider. I know I have.

I don't consider any chain drive motorcycle a DD. It's shaft drive only for DD duties.

But since you will be on the interstate for long periods of time I would recommend a good wind screen.
I have a 1970 CB350 SS, 1988 NT650(Hawk GT), 2004 BMW R1100S

Why not?  Drive chains aren't that much trouble to maintain.

Just about any motorcycle, regardless of its age or use of a drive chain can be a great daily driver as long as it's in good mechanical shape.  My 750K1 has been my main transport for several years now, and has hardly given me any trouble in that time.

Yeah I dont see why a chain drive would be an issue. They have been used for decades and are this the preferred method of putting down the power. A shaft does not make a bike a better daily driver. Maybe just one that needs less lube and cleaning.
