1977 CB750K float adjustment question
« on: March 28, 2010, 03:25:12 PM »
I have a 77 750K  have a float adjustment question about. My Clymer manual says to set it at 14-15 mm but it also shows a picture of a set of carbs with round floats. Mine have the square or rectangular ones. This may not be the problem at all because I have no fuel coming from the overflows its seeping out around the float bowl gasket on the side of the carb thats lower when the bike is on the side stand. Does anyone have an answer? Plus the bike is not stock as you can see it has been altered so is it a possibility its leaning to the side to much causing the problem?

You have coffin topped carbs and the correct setting is 14mm. If you want a quick and easy test, put a piece of clear tubing in the bottom drain on each carb, hold the tube next to the carb, open the drain screw and you can see the gas level in the float bowl. It should be just below the bowl gasket. Do that for each carb.
