I have two Kustom amps, an old silver t&r 50 watt(solid state rating c.1969) and a quad 65dfx
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/guitar_amplifiers/kustom/quad_65_dfx/index.htmlthat I bought used on ebay for $140. Both have a single 12" speaker.
Maybe Magnatone made a better vibrato, but the old Kustom one works great too, otherwise it's pretty bright and brittle sounding, but with the tone control(s) pretty much turned down on a strat set in between pickups I can get a decent organ sound out if it on occasion.
The newer Quad is a good all around amp. It does a creditable clean sound and has a pretty workable overdrive sound as well. Effects are good although you can only access one at a time. I mostly just use a little short delay, and could live with it full time if it was the only amp I had. It'll also get pretty loud as it has a boost switch, but using it for prolonged periods will trip a thermal switch when it overheats, at least I think that's what happens with mine. It is nice and light and not too big so I use it occasionally as a rehearsal amp. I've had it for 3 or 4 years and it hasn't screwed up yet. Hope this helps!
