As long as they are not too wide to fit the groove, hose clamps should be stronger than the wimpy Honda ones. Let us know it you find anything standard size.

I have used some from Mc Master Carr with excellent success.  I do not have access to the box to get the part numbers, but I got the stainless steel version, and they were 10 to a box, and about $20 for the lot.  Measure your band width, and the diameter of the clamp area on the boot.  You will need that information to select the correct ones on their website.  They fit perfect!

Google Norma clamps. I believe the product name is Torro. I've used them in the past. They have a rolled edge and fit the original groove exactly and will not cut the boots like garden hose clamps. I don't recall the exact part number but they do work well.

Anyone using hex-topped screws for holding the clamps in place? Would be better then the philips-head screws no?

Several years back I had to replace a couple of clamps due to being stripped.  To keep things looking correct I moved two good clamps to the outside and secured the two inner boots with hd quick release zip ties.  Chinched down tight they don't leak, don't cut, and with a press of a tab, can be removed by hand.  Just choose a size and color appropriate to the task.
