74 cb750 bobber build - need guidance
« on: March 26, 2010, 09:18:56 AM »
i want to make an hd wheel work with a stock cb front end.  not worried about front brakes right now, just what i need to do to make the front wheel work.

i think i've got an idea of what i need to do to make the rear wheel work, but any help would be appreciated.

i'm in ames, ia.  i've met some local guys that have already provided invaluable guidance, but any more help would be great.

using a cyclexchange boxer frame - really nice frame.  i'll try to get pics up, too.

From what I know of HD wheels and CB forks you're going to have to do some machining to get it to fit. There are several different axle diameters on HD wheels. You might bet lucky and find one that fits directly, bit I'm betting not.  Why not just convert to run a HD fork too.  Not that I'm a fan of HD but at least their forks are made to run the beefy tires that they put on them.  I know a guy here in denver who used to make (still does maybe) a kit so you could run a HD stem without modifying your Honda frame neck.

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.
