Well, I read it all and took a few notes. I'm thinking of a hanger consisting of chrome moly saddles over the 1" frame rails and a 3/8" tube welded between them with two tabs hanging off to bolt to the rubber biscuits in the pics bill sent. If they appear too old, Ill replace them with MSD insulating bushings.
When they get here I'll check the jet sizes and post here. For now they will be on an 836 with a KH/F cam, mild porting, Pamco on stock coils and a newer Yoshimura clone 4/1 header.

" i am not so sure you can  easily change jets with the RC bolted in place"

No changing them on my RC manifold setup without dropping the carbs.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Well I will add this if you run the recommended  jets it should start and run fine  unless you live in Colorado maybe..
But then you will know what to do..

I'm closer to sea level than Jerry, we're in the flatlands of Illinois. We see a lot of 2,500 to 3,000' density altitude in the summer. On the rare occasion we get some go fast air. Our dragster got happy one day with below with sea level air and ran a 7.44 / 182 in the 1/4 mile, at 100 pounds over the usual weight driver. If my daughter had been there we would have cracked into the 7.30's. I have a basic understanding of the air and fuel relationship. Hopefully that will help and not just confuse me. L0L!

You won't be far off running the base jetting. I stopped short of saying it would work for everyone because I thought of where Jerry lives. . Who we helped with his Webers at Dolores..

I got 'em today. Thanks for the prompt service as always Bill. I'll need the straight rubbers and carb studs. I think the local farm store will have studs and nuts. I bought a soft brass wire wheel to do a bit of cleaning and I'll be in the shop soon to continue acid cleaning a gl1000 gas tank.
I may draw a jet map.

Don R you mentioned picking up some books.  My 2 favourites are  - Weber Carburettors by John Passini (ISBN 0947981675).  Technical with separate sections for different Weber carbs.  Excellent for describing what everything does, and how they interact.  The other is the Haynes manual - Weber Carburettors (ISBN 1 85010 020 9 (US)).  Covers all the popular type Webers with section for DCOE.  Good reference for rebuilding / setting up.  There are stock jetting charts for cars.  I used these to get close on my initial jetting for the sidecar XS750 engine using cylinder displacement.

Don, I use bolts, not studs, to mount the carbs to the manifold. What jetting did the carbs come with: mains, emulsion tubes, air correction, idle, and aux (bombsight) size? I'll check on the size of the hoses.

Actually Razz,s manifold is straight.. hmm
MPD are splayed outward, making jet access easier..
razz manifold looks like the one I have no maker name on it,think you have one as well frank, bosses on top for linkage,it is straight not angled.bill

Thanks guys, TT I believe those are the two books Santa chose for me. I didn't make it back to the shop tonight but have my shopping list started, foam media for the filters, bolts for the manifolds and hose connectors.  There is a foot of 1.5" ID 2" od silicone hose for $20 shipped on ebay, that's almost too easy. I have some sweet 5/16 stainless bolts in the bin so bolts are easy thanks Scottly. Oh, and gasket material. I might have used up my universal gasket kit.
My car club business got over so I may head out and check jets yet tonight if I can find them!

F16 emulsion tube? with a 115 jet on it and next to that is what I think is 45F  and the one under a screw on the body it was a 35.  the aux? had a 4 on it.

Bap Geon filters. I remember those from my sporty car days, before I owned a 64 Buick 2 dr hardtop with a 425 nailhead.

Har har, Nailhead. ;D My buddy had a Wildcat with a 401 nail with 2 fours, four speed with 4.56 gears; he was the only one to give me a good race against my VW bus with a 413 mopar midships. ;D
The skinny tube under the screw marked 35 is likely the accelerator pump jet. The aux are likely actually 4.5? The "cap" on the ends of the emulsion tubes pull off, allowing you to see the air jets. 115 mains are certainly in the ballpark, but may be a bit rich, depending on the air jets. The 45 idle jets may be a tad lean; what is the F #? Both your mains and idle jets will work well, and it would take a dyno to tell any difference with other jetting.

I wondered where a 413 fit in a bus. Midships makes sense. My buddy had a dune buggy with a 392 hemi but it was in front.

I'm learning a little at a time. I'll look for the F#, didn't see it. at least we're close I'm pretty sure the aux are 4, it's pretty clear. I'll look for the choke size. Did anybody see the video a few posts up?

I would have been there if I wasn't such a pussy, my 78 gl had a noisy idler bearing and I left Sturgis and went home. Shoulda rode it into the dirt and took a bus home if it died.
180 air correction and I can't read the accel jet, it says weber clearly and on the other side maybe 6055?  It appears I'm in the ball park parts wise. I saw hose on here. it is 1 3/8". I'll go out in the am with a magnifier lens, it's in my Holley jet kit, and I went EFI and stopped hauling it around.
