Need help with a tank i.d.
« on: April 04, 2010, 10:20:48 AM »
so now that ive decided which tank to use... i gotta figure out what it came off of so i can get badges, and view my petcock options among other things.
So as you can see ive stripped most of the paint off (easter = me not allowed to play with chemicals  >:( ) so, while stripping the horrfiic rattle can job i was able to peel back what i belive was the stock stripe to show what might have been the stock paint. Brown with black insert. that being said the stripe i pulled off was close to that of a 750 k2 (as far as i can tell) which with the paint scheme leads me to belive it is of that era... but it fits perfectly on my 500. hmmm could have been a repaint, so any ideas what it is? oh and the mounting holes for the badges a 4" center to center

so here is the best pic of the stripe i was able to get...

and here are some of the almost stripped tank...

Thanks all!
