Did I install cam 180 degrees off?
« on: April 01, 2010, 04:48:18 PM »
Recently did off frame restore on 350f, included new head gasket.  Bike will not start.  Will bike run with cam 180 degrees out of time?  Has good spark, overhauled carbs.  Bike ran after carb overhaul, but not after new head gasket and seals. ::)

If the 350 is anything like the 550, 180-degrees will work fine since the cam turns a half turn for each full turn of the crank.  One of the nice features of the "wasted spark" coils!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

You may want to turn your advance cam 180 degrees...
