What exhaust is this?
« on: March 29, 2010, 01:54:20 PM »
This 1976 550F is on e bay right now.
I don't recognize the exhaust.
Anybody have a clue?
It looks like the emblem says BC or RC?
I did a quick Google search and came up empty.
Thanks!
I want to die like my grandfather did...in his sleep and not screaming like the passengers in his car!

It's a Russ Collins 4-1 as it is written on it.
I had one on my bike 1979-1983 until I made a total overhaul including tuning the engine, replaced by an Alpha 4-1.

Today plans of purchase a Carpy's Yoshi 4-1 replica with good clearance to ground and allow the engine to breath. I remember that Yoshi 4-1 was one of the best 4-1 out there in the beginning of the 80's. Russ Collins had a very bad clearance to ground. My exhaust became rather scratched after a while. My photos below are from July 1980 when it was popular to modify the bikes here with longer fork, banana seat, high steering rod and a nice sounding 4-1.
