She's pregnant now and just started crying today because she was hungry... so I went in and cooked her a pork chop.  Sorted that cry right out.

Good for you. It's nice to see when a guy understands that kind of stuff. My brother had morning sickness for his 1st wife. He puked almost everyday for a month at work, she felt fine.  :D

There, I fixed it for you.  :D

I know. I can't speak for others but I do know some that use it to hide how nasty they really are inside. I see some of the good ones try really hard to keep it in, knowing the demon is taking over. I'm usually just a little off or quiet. Man or woman, our biggest flaw seems to be that we are human.  :)

Bucky, I sympathise.

I was faced with these sorts of issues after the death of my wife when the kids were 7,5, and 2yo.

After a couple of dabbles at combining families I decided this could only mean industrial-strength TROUBLE. So I didn't.

Was better to have friends at arms-length, so to speak.  ::)

Pros and cons with either arrangement. Best part was not having to cope with interfering rellies or new out-laws telling me how to raise my children. There was also another 'best-part' but we won't go there...

Kids are now adults 20-30yo travelling the world and enjoying life.

Well, my "boyfriend" is a woman.  ::) Imagine how it can get with both of us PMS'ing at the same time. We've learned to put it in perspective and know where it's coming from. That's why we are still together and happy. It's nothing personal honey, just the hormones...  :D

Holy Cow- just looking at your avatar, I thought you were male and I was poking a little fun.

Kit actually drew that picture of my avatar for me. She's the other 1/2.  ;) It's Mickey as a biker.

I'm not saying you should put up with someone's #$%*. What I'm saying is... see where it might be coming from before you fly off the handle right back. Sometimes it really is just hormones #$%*ing at you. If she's pretty cool normally but not during that week, then learn from that. Your life will be happier and you can just ignore her idiocy that week.  :D

So bucky, is everything still ok?

My take on this is women know it's coming and if they are being #$%*y they'd best not try to make it my problem too. They need to deal with it. Sorry, but if I'm in a mood I don't take it out on others.

It's not so hard to know, most guys think more about (motor) Cycles, than OTHER  forms of Cycles...

I don't think Jerry and the gang have lived with a woman going through menopause.   Finally- it's starting to ease up some for Kathleen, but it is major hell.  On her, MUCH more than me.
I suspect it helps to be in love.

well, i suggested and she accepted the idea of going to our pastor for counseling.

+ 1 on counceling Bucky......... It does take 2 to tango and a third party ( councelor ) can get the 'talk' going.... but please not anyone's pastor (IMO ) just a neutral professional, it's way worth it, best of luck.........

+1

i was wondering if anyone would remeber that. this is the pastor, that even though this IS a moderate baptist church (because i dont want him to have problems i wont mention names or the town the church is in)he brews his own beer and makes wine as well (that damn wine is like moonshine i swear. he has a great sense of humor and he even gave me an old oscar meyer weenie whistle at christmas  :D

That's all great Bucky, but you need a councillor NOT a pastor , the two things are NOT mutual ( sorry for the capitols).... no diss intended.

well, with our financial situation what it is this is the only alternitive right now. basically what i want is someone outside this situation to hear both sides of this story that can offer an unbiased view. i am not the only one that has noticed or said something about this situation but if i bring it up to the wife i "dont know what the #$%* i'm talking about"

Plenty of ministers make decent counselors.  The main job is to organize and prioritize things so they don't seem overwhelming.  Take issues one at a time and figure out solutions that work for both parties.
It helps to learn how to listen, first.  That alone can take some learnin'.
Whole chapter on how to shut up and listen.

thing is, i know i'm no picnic to live with but i do whatever i can to just put my problems below the surface to keep things running smooth but there are days when something might overewhelm me completely, and i know this.
