Hi all,
I'm new to the boards
My real name's Christie and I'm the owner of a 1973 Honda CB350F.
Been riding bikes for a few years now, between my husband and I we've got a CBR600F4i (my daily), a Birdie (his daily), a KTM LC4 SM (a hoon bike which spends most of its time blown up) and best of all, my project bike the CB350Four.
The CB has a bit of a story, a mutual friend of both my husband and I passed away 2 years ago, just before the accident he won the CB on ebay. His parents were going to sell it to me, but I didn't have the money at the time. Luckily for me another friend bought it and then sat on it for 18 months before deciding he didn't have the time or the tools to do anything with it, so 6 months ago I took possesion of it
(the friend traded up to a siezed CB750 instead which is also residing in our garage).
Anyway, after 6 months of putting it off and having other priorities I've decided to start. This weekend it's gone up on the workbench in the garage, engine's out and I'm down to rolling chassis. The plan is to do a cafe racer with a modern twist. That's to say, keep the style elements and engine which make it the 350, but update everything else. This may or may not include fuel injection, digital ignition, controller area network, and, the most crazy idea which we came up with on the way home tonight - perhaps having forward facing intake valves/rear facing exhaust valves. All just crazy talk at the moment...
But, I've done up my F4i cosmetically, (it was crashed when I bought it), and my husband and I have rebuilt the KTM, we've got a CNC mill in the garage and I think we might just be up to the task. So Im looking forward to sharing the journery with some like minded souls!
(sorry if that was too much info!)
