Float bowl gaskets
« on: January 23, 2006, 08:00:21 AM »
The rebirth of my 71 cb750 is going great with some small bugs.
One problem I am having is that my float bowl gaskets(brand new)
Seem to be fatter than origanal and are hanging up my floats either up or down. I am on my 2nd set of gaskets and only one carb is currently getting hung up.
Anybody run into this?
thanks

Have to admit, I'm having trouble picturing this. What was the source of your new gaskets?

I bought the gaskets from E bay. They were from honda carb rebuind kits and the gaskets were not needed.

DusterDude:
I trimmed 2 with a razor blade, one so far seems to work ok. the 2nd one did not.
I may have to try cutting my own.

Your float may have gotten bent out a little.
