Swing Arm Bushing Help
« on: April 06, 2010, 02:17:05 PM »
1972 Cb750K2, I'm rebushing the swing arm.  The old bushes that are still in the swing arm measure .846" ID using a digital caliper on the end that I can reach.  The new bronze bushings that I just received from Partsnmore (made by Parts Plus in Japan) measure .850" measuring the same area .  I don't have an inside mic to check better, but the measurements should be relative to each other.

My question is, since the new bushings will be an interference fit into the swing arm, does that interference fit effectively reduce the ID once they are pressed in?  If not, it seems I am wasting my time and money to install these.  They are already out of spec according to the shop manual.

Thanks for any input.
