Topic: Auto Meter Gauges?

Hey All,

I was thinking about potentially replacing my stock cb750 gauges with these really slick Auto Meter gauges. Does anyone know if these are a 4:1 tach ratio, and if the mechanial speedometer cable can be modded to work with this speedo?

I have a dyna S ignition of that helps...?

hi zev,I'm no expert but I dont think the speedo would work because of the size difference @ the cable connection ,also you need to get the correct ratio's for your bike.    http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=265.msg435880#msg435880   hope I helped a little

I know they don't make a mechanical tach but hooking one into the Dyna ignition shouldn't be an issue. They do make a 2240:60 mechanical speedo but again mating the cable with the gauge is the issue. You might be able to get a helicoil adaptor to fit on one of the ends of the speedo cable.
I also notice on their site they have a line of motorcycle gauges that may actually, by design, be more weather and vibration resistant.
But, overall, they are quite expensive.

As far as weathertight gauges go, the ones you want are the ProCycle gauges.



I'm not sure the tach can handle a four cylinder motor, but I haven't looked either. Also not sure if they have a model where the revs go high enough for a Honda.  They only go to 8k on mine, which is plenty for a long-stroke pushrod twin.
