Frontend checkup
« on: April 13, 2010, 12:39:29 AM »
It attempting to teach a mecanical engineer how to ride a motorcycle on my bike today he crashed it. Got to kinda expect that both him and my bikeis gonna suffer a few scrapes in the prosess I underestimated what ended up as reality. Never did I figure he would run the bike into and almost threw a fence. (the dumpster is what really stopped him going threw)

early estimates of damage on my bike is looking good. Broken headlight and bucket and a tweaked handlebar. I have a concern about the front fork being bent. On a quick visual inspection it looks fine along with the wheel. I took it for a small ride around the parking lot before putting it away and nothing seemed out of the norm. When I'm out of work this morning I'm gonna take a closer look at it. What do I need to pay attention for as a tell tale sign of a bent fork? If there is a bend I wouldent imagine it not being to large of one being I dident notice it so far.

Honestly never asked him but I beleave he does. Honestly it all happened rather fast and he just wasent prepaired for the the bike reacting or lack of reaction from him.

Still curious about the fork bend

I've never been in a wreck bad enough to bend the forks, but if it happened to me I'd take a good look at the lower triple to see if there's any obvious cracks.  If you have a black triple it might be pretty obvious.  Maybe some witness marks on the fork tubes where the lower triple used to be if it's moved at all.
