1975 Cb750K "special"
« on: July 20, 2010, 12:02:04 PM »
Hello all, I've been around here for quite a while and never put up a build thread.  SOoo I figured I 'd put it up now haha..   P.o really didnt take too good of care of it. although he did put on new spitfire tires, thankfully. The tank was lovely to remove the paint, paint thinner and strippers didn't work, but good ole gasoline dripped on it and woo it came off, but very slowly. He had to have 10 different colors under that gray coat!! The seat was interesting as well, I figured I would buy a new seat but not too sure..

the next thing was the oil filter bolt, which I had a thread about on here a couple weeks back, was completely circled off, I ended up dremeling it and cutting little by little of the bolt head and it eventually turned! then the good ole phillips head exhaust bolts were a wonder as well. but impact driver to the rescue... an hour or so later....I'll add some more pics but I have to resize them all... so bear with me.

I took off the stock bars, put on clubmans, took off the 4-2 exhaust that was on there and put on a 4-1 pipe, pods were on there so I just left em. painting the tank and side covers black, but I want to do some other color as well. oh and going back to the oil filter bolt. I ended up changing it, and this guy had to have 4+quarts in the bike!! ridiculous, and it was some old a** oil mixed with gasoline. I really don't think the guy ever changed it! the plugs were wearing away as well, just put in new ones last night. I'll have pics of the somewhat finished product hopefully later this week. I am still unsure of seat, and am still planning on getting rearsets some time..  Let me know what yall think!!  oh and she's got only 34000 miles..
