Well have recently acquired a desire to restore/modify an old bike and am leaning towards a CB550 or CB750 have been doing lots of research via the internet which is how I ended up here. T be honest I'm a little surprised how difficult it is to find these bikes at least in this area. It seems as though everything for sale has already been re-done But i'm a patient man and will keep looking. Right now I have 2 completely non-related bikes an 04 BMW 1150RT and a 02 BMW 1150GS.

  Hey Bill, welcome to the forums.  Bikes are always pretty popular in SoCal due to the gorgeous weather and roads so it doesn't surprise me that a lot of the bikes you see are already in top form.  That mixed with the fact the bikes inland a bit don't rust much and you've got a recipe for easy restoration and maintenance on these old girls.
