the maxton mile event, landspeed record attempts i gather. this will be the first real out of town run for the k4 since i finished it.

No, I'm doing a spot of gardening, I might nip over if I finish early enough.

i understand the event in atlanta will be fun. driving into atlanta on I-20 will not be  the only worse city to drive in was boston and i understand that since the big dig thats changed. i'll never forget leaving fenway park after a 4th of july game and it taking us something like 8 hours to get home which was just north of hartford.

There's a picture on here somwhere of Mike Rieck and Ron Williams (Mr Maxton).
I took him to meet Ron when he visited in 08, it was a surprise, he thought it was just a trip up Helsby Hill.
Ron served his time in the trade at Chevron Cars in Bolton and at the time was a top motorcycle sprinter on a blown 500cc Triumph.

I wish I was going, there is a 180 mph car in the garage but that's only in the quarter mile. I'd love to get some tires and gears and convert to Lakester for a weekend. Alas, one has to pick just a few hobbies.

if i end up going i'll bring several 4gig sd cards and a pad of paper and pen to chronicle my adventures...........kind of weish i had done that from sunday - tuesday this past week, dont ask why...............yet, when it's all over with a long long posting with phone calls to some of you will explain my week to date
