PORTLAND FOLKS!
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:35:45 PM »
Any chance there is someone/somewhere that has a CB550 head gasket? I'm trying to get my ride ready for saturday, and am in desperate need for one!!

If you strike out locally, you could try Western Hills Honda; I know they have some obscure #$%* in stock.

It'll cost you a grip to get it by Friday, though...  :-\

Yea, i got a guy on the east coast that will overnight it for me. I got a Cometic head gasket by mistake, and the cylinder seal is too big (63mm). Yeah, I'm dumb  :-\

hell yeah! I am glad the weather should be good otherwise I would have to bring the vtr instead of the cafe since it actually has fenders.

No problem! Spoke to Cometic and they said they have a 60mm available, but the 63mm will cause no problems as is. Head is on, I'll be finishing up today along with tuning, hopefully having a shakedown run tommorow.

The fire ring is meant to be oversized. I can't remember exactly what percentage it should be, but for example my 64mm bore has a 66mm fire ring pre-crush.
