Plenty of ministers make decent counselors.  The main job is to organize and prioritize things so they don't seem overwhelming.  Take issues one at a time and figure out solutions that work for both parties.
It helps to learn how to listen, first.  That alone can take some learnin'.
Whole chapter on how to shut up and listen.

Do the best you can with the resources you have.  Being committed to one another and the process will help.  If you can set aside your individual agenda's for the sake of your marriage, you're half way there.
That and shut up and listen might get you another quarter of the way

i'm not the type to quit. as alot of you know things were pretty grim here a while back and i was actively looking for someplace else to live. i'm glad it didnt come to that though. when i look at the miserable pricks that my former brothers are and the 11 marriages between the 3 of them, but theyre telling me how to live MY life. with 2 of the former family members my 1 marriage is longer than ones 3 and the others 4 marriages put together.
