Beautiful to me as well, the right side engine case reminds me of the one on the Enfield twin. When did the twin carb models start?

That is beautiful, I wonder what else might be in the garage with that? A very unique bike, the gauges are particularly eye catching, running backwards and all.

Don't remember exactly when the twin carbs started. I used to know more about these, but can't remember things like that AND can't remember exactly when they went to unit construction engine/trans. either.

I think the only difference in the Rocket and Super Rocket were chrome fenders and headlight ears as you call them.
Compession and cam may have been different but I'm not sure, now the Rocket Gold Star was another thing alltogether. 8) 8) 8) 8)

Sam's ALWAYS the tease! ::) Now, I had known basically about the Road Rocket and the Super Rocket, but didn't hear about there BEING a Rocket Gold Star until later on. Details Sam (or anyone who knows)! ???

Seems like the Lightening and whatever other twin carb models there were came after unit construction began.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Sometimes, I just don't THINK about googling. I don't know where my head is these days. ::)

Funny that I had never heard of that model until just a few years ago (way after my Granddad's shop closed down. He used to have the franchise for BSA (among others) up until he passed away back in Dec of '68.
