CB550 Air Filter Options
« on: June 06, 2011, 08:47:12 PM »
Hello Guys,

I'm working on a very modest cafe.  I have a mainly stock 74 CB550K.  I just rebuilt the carbs and put a MAC 4:1 on.  So far things run, look and sound great!!!  I would like to replace the stock air-box with something after market with better performance.  I know about numerous pods and what not.  My problem is that I would like to keep the side covers on.  That said, that physically limits the size/shape of any pods... especially on carbs 1 and 4.  I was just wondering what your thoughts are.  Is this doable?

Much appreciated!!!
John

Use the search box for cb550 pods. You will find many many threads addressing this subject with pictures.

You will also probably see that most people recommend not using pods on a 550 as the jetting is a serious pain in the ass.
