Dang, right under your nose!   I worry about mine sometimes because our place isn't gated, she's practically 20 feet off the street under a light.   Fortunately, I park next to a couple of sportbikes with much larger displacements and no locks.   Maybe it's all the dirt and rust on mine that keeps it safe  :P

Glad she's back, sucks about the tow fee.

I had my 1991 Chevy Blazer stolen from outside of my house. The truck was a piece of junk and had the radio stolen previously. So I was very perplexed as to why someone would steal my truck. I called the police and told them when they find the car they'll finger print it and call me so I can avoid paying a towing fee.

Of course a few weeks later they call me and have had the car impounded and didn't finger print it. I go to the impound lot and have to pay $220 because the police failed to protect my property.

I'm 22 years old and throughout my life I've had my car broken into three times, my house broken into, my car stolen, and property stolen from outside of my house about 2 months ago. I was also put in the hospital because some drunks decided they wanted to kick the crap out of me. Yet everyday I pay taxes for police officers who are suppose to protect and serve me and my property. Where were the police officers when your bike was stolen? Where were they when all of these crimes were committed against me? They were on the side of the roads with their radar guns attempting to squeeze more money out of us citizens so they can upgrade their 2009 Tahoes to 2010.

In order for me to get a title for my bike I need a police office to come to my house and fill out a TR-54 form. Today was the day I set aside to have this done. I called 311 which is the non-emergency line for my city. They directed me to call 911 which after checking with their supervisor told me to bring the bike to the police headquarters. After I arrived at the headquarters I was directed to a school district police department down the street. They directed me to the substation about 10 miles away. I arrived at the substation and explained to the sergeant that I needed an officer to fill out my TR-54 form. They told me that I needed to have it done at the department of transportation. I explained to the sergeant that I had already been to the department of transportation and that the form even says it needs to be filled out by a police officer. She then told me that she wasn't going to fill it out and threatened me that if I made her get out of her chair then there was going to be a serious problem.

Yet everyday I pay for these people to do a job they aren't doing...

I wonder if graffiti remover would remove the red without hurting the other paint?

Did you have a cover over it?

That sucks man.  Just goes to show you a little prevention like a disc lock or chain might've turned them to one of the other bikes.  Not to say I told you so or anything, hell I don't lock my bikes up.  Then again mine aren't in a gated neighborhood/complex.

Mike sorry to hear about your problems with the cops, but Dallas cops can be pretty lazy.  Get outta her chair?  That's sad, she obviously doesn't hear herself when she speaks.  Twat.
